How to check if your TV remote is working

Most remote controls use infrared light to transmit the signal. The human eye cannot see this light, however a camera can. 

STEP 1

Turn your cellphone camera on, all you need to do is look at  screen while performing the process.

STEP 2

Press any button on the remote while looking at the cellphone screen, if it is functioning you will see the infrared light.
