JACOB ZUMA


President of South Africa Jacob Gedleyihlekisa  Zuma,  Born April 12, 1942. President of South Africa since 2009. Zuma began engaging in politics at an early age and joined the African National Congress in 1959.

Convicted of conspiring to overthrow the Apartheid government, Zuma was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment, which he served on Robben Island with Nelson Mandela.


In 1990, he was elected Chairperson of the ANC for the Southern Natal region, and took a leading role in fighting political violence in the region between members of the ANC and IFP. Zuma had experience in national leadership, as he started serving in the National Executive committee of the ANC in 1977 when the party was still a guerrilla movement. By the time he became its president he had served the ANC for thirty years.

Tokyo Sexwale was born in 5  March 1953  in South Africa, Soweto. He is a politician, businessman, anti-apartheid activist, and former political prisoner. Sexwale was imprisoned on Robben Island for his anti-apartheid activities.

After his release, Sexwale returned to Johannesburg, where he served as head of the public liaison department of the African National Congress Headquarters. He was subsequently appointed the head of special projects, reporting to the ANC's military headquarters. After the South African elections in April 1994, Sexwale was elected as the first premier of the new PWV Province.


Sexwale also chairs companies such as the Trans Hex Group Ltd. and Northam Platinum Ltd.; in addition, he is a director of companies such as Absa Group Limited, Allied Electronics Corporation Ltd. (more commonly known as Altech) and Gold Fields Ltd.

The latest unemployment figures released by Statistics SA which place the official ... Graduates from universities have an unemployment rate of about 5%.

Labour market analyst says that about 600 000 university graduates are languishing at home, unable to put into practice what they have learned.

A growing army of unemployed graduates are now forced to either rely on their families to support them or find jobs as unskilled workers, such as waiters, clerks and office assistants.

University qualifications, Sharp says, are not the only qualities employers look for when recruiting.

Sharp’s advice to young people is to choose what they want to study carefully before going to university and enrolling for a course that is not in demand.

National Zoological Gardens of South Africa

The National Zoological Gardens of South Africa also known as The Pretoria Zoo is an 85-hectare. It was opened on the October 21, 1899. It located in Pretoria, South African (Boom Street)     

The farm Klein Schoemansdal, the property of Z.A.R. president Stephanus Schoeman, was sold to Johannes Francois Celliers who renamed it Rus in Urbe. It was acquired by the state in 1895, and the zoological gardens was established at the outbreak of the Second Boer War in 1899. It became the official National Zoological Gardens in 1916.

Paul Kruger

Stephanus Johannes Paulus Kruger known as Paul Kruger was born on 10th  of October 1825. He is the 5th president of South African Republic.  Kruger was born at Bulhoek, on his grandfather's farm in the British Cape Colony, and he grew up on the farm Vaalbank. He received only three months of formal education.

in 1874, he was elected as a member of the Executive Council and shortly after became the Vice-President of the Transvaal. Following the annexation of the Transvaal by Britain in 1877, Kruger became the leader of the resistance movement. During the same year, he visited Britain for the first time as the leader of a deputation. In 1878, he formed part of a second deputation.

30 December 1880 Paul Kruger was elected as President of the Transvaal,

April 1883 he won Presidential elections.

The next South African general election will be held on a date in April–July 2014 to elect a new National Assembly, as well as new provincial legislatures in each province.

When we voted in the historic first democratic election in 1994, we were excited because we were free to choose our own government and leaders. We thought of the changes that our votes would immediately bring. We did again in 1999 a few more times thereafter.
